This $40 Amiga Came From Inside an Arcade Machine - Months Later I Tested It

At Vintage Computer Festival 2025, I found an Amiga 500 motherboard sitting on a vendor's table. What he told me next blew my mind.

"They used Amigas as controller boards inside their arcade games."

This Rev 6 board came from American Laser Games - the company that made those light gun arcade games in the 90s. When they went under, this board became new old stock. Never used. Just sitting around for decades.

$40 later, I walked away with it... but didn't test it for MONTHS.

Would it even work? Watch to find out.

AMERICAN LASER GAMES:

These guys made arcade light gun games like Mad Dog McCree, Crime Patrol, and Who Shot Johnny Rock in the early 90s. They literally used Amiga 500 boards as controllers inside the arcade cabinets. When the company folded, surplus boards like this one hit the market.

This is why I love vintage computer festivals - you never know what stories you'll uncover.
