If you had a Commodore 64 in the eighties, you probably did this.

A single-sided five and a quarter inch floppy only gave you six hundred sixty-four blocks. So we punched a second notch in the disk and tricked the 1541 drive into thinking it was double-sided.

Risky? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely.
