Atari 7800 vs Commodore 64: The System So Many of Us Missed

The Atari 7800 was sitting right there in the 1980s, but somehow a lot of us barely noticed it.

I grew up with the Atari 2600 and Commodore 64, but the 7800 was one of those systems that just passed me by. So I finally gave it a proper night on real hardware and put some of its arcade classics up against the Commodore 64 versions I remember.

We play Food Fight, Dig Dug, Robotron: 2084, Asteroids, Ms. Pac-Man, Joust, Centipede, Galaga, Xevious and more. Some of these brought back memories immediately. Others made me wonder how I missed this machine in the first place.

What was the computer or console you missed growing up? The one your friend had, the one you wanted, or the one you didn't discover until years later? Tell me about it in the comments.

Real Hardware. Real Memories.
